Thai White Guava is a superior variety prized for its large fruit size, thin skin and minimal seeds. This mid-sized evergreen fruit tree grows to about 15-20 feet and produces green-skinned fruits with crisp, clean white flesh that has higher sugar, vitamin C, and fiber content than pink guava varieties. The entire fruit including the peel is edible. Introduced by the Portuguese to Asia in the 17th century, it became a popular fruit in Thailand where it is called farang. A mature tree can produce several dozen pounds of fruit per year (50-80 lbs / 23-36 kg).
